Stretching is vital to help us maintain or increase our core flexibility. Strengthening of key muscle groups enables us to maintain correct postural alignment whilst allowing us to function with increased range of motion within our joints. Over time and where poor posture is left unattended, the control group muscles that are recruited to move our limbs will shorten and become weak, eventually tightening and altering the position of our skeletal system in both our relaxed and working postures. This will increase the load on our spinal column and peripheral nervous system leading us to experience more acute and chronic pain.
